Once again another great weekend was enjoyed by the 18 members who attended our Ballylickey trip. Lodgings were in Seaview House, and as per usual a very high standard was provided. Exceptional cuisine made up for the inclement weather. Kathleen was her usual pleasant self and made everyone feel very welcome.
Some of the members travelled down on Friday and made it a two night event. They were joined on Saturday morning and set off on a drive taking in Allihies,Eyeries and lunch in the infamous McCarthys pub in Castletownbere. Stopping to look at the glorious scenery, returning to Seaview at 5 o clock. Meeting for drinks around 7 and enjoyed a splendid meal in the dining room afterwards.
After breakfast on Sunday morning we headed over the Healy Pass. A truly exceptional drive along meandering roads with amazing views. Now known as part of The Atlantic Way. Good weather or bad this is one of the best drives you will find anywhere. Heading to Kenmare where lunch was booked in Caseys at The Brook Lane Hotel.
We were joined at this event by new members from Galway, Christy and Mary. Good to see the membership going from strength to strength and new members are always welcome.
Thanks to Michael and Mary Mullins for organising this event. Everyone appreciates the effort that goes into the planning of these club events.
