Terenure Car Show Report

The highlight of our club calendar was on the weekend of the 4th & 5th July when we participated in the Classic & Vintage Car Show at Terenure College. Meeting up at Spirit Motor Co. on Saturday at 12 noon we had a good look at the new XE and the now not-so-new F-Type.  Leaving Spirit we made our way as usual to Terenure College where we arranged the stand for the following day and that evening we had our usual gathering at Garville Ave. Most of our members stayed at Maldron Hotel (formerly Bewley’s), Newlands Cross as Leopardstown was booked out.

Sunday morning with uncertain weather we arrived at Terenure, the new traffic flow proved very successful and we were able to get parked on the stand very quickly. Our marquee, which had been set up the previous day, was very useful to dodge the many showers but thankfully it cleared up in the afternoon and the day turned out to be warm and sunny.

We had a great turn out of cars on our stand and no less than 6 E-Types, one belonging to a JEC member from Northern Ireland which was awarded a prize, and indeed my own MK2 was selected as Best Classic Car.

A great day was had by all and thank you to everyone for taking part in this the 21st Anniversary year of our club.
